China YES (Young Envoys Scholarship Programme) - Nanjing Hydropolis
The University of Manchester and Southeast University, China are jointly running a 10-day programme exploring Nanjing’s river–lake systems and historic-city conservation.
Participants will take part in lectures, workshops, and field trips in and around Nanjing. They will have the opportunity to engage with architecture, planning and development practices in the thriving China city. Participants will develop a reflective portfolio and a collective piece of work will be considered for publication in the RIBA The Journal of Architecture.
The programme is funded by Young Envoys Scholarship, China and the China-Britain Business Council. Eligibility criteria are set to meet the funding requirements.

Eligibility
- You must be a current UoM student or a graduate of past three years;
- You must be of 18-35 years old (as required by YES and CBBC);
- You must be a citizen of UK, Europe, Australia or USA (as required by YES).
No knowledge of Chinese is required. The programme will be run entirely in English.
Application process
Complete the application form including a short statement (500 words) why you wish to take part in the programme and the benefits to your study and career.
Once you have been offered a place, you are expected to make a deposit of £75 to secure it.
The scholarship will cover your tuition, field visits, meals and accommodation for the programme. There will be a single pick-up and drop-off arrangement between Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Southeast University. The scholarship will reimburse up to £575 for your international flights.
You are expected to pay for your visa application and travel insurance and any other expenses outside the programme.
We will confirm your place on the programme once your application is approved by the funding bodies.
