Beijing Normal University

Situated in the heart of the political, cultural and economic capital of China, BNU one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country, and a world-leading higher education institution renowned for excellence in teacher training and educational science.

The university was founded in 1902 as the Normal College of the Imperial University of Peking, later merging with Peking Women's Normal University and Fu Jen Catholic University to create the institution as it is today.

BNU works closely with the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester by arranging secondments for Chinese teaching staff in Manchester, helping build vital business links and sending world teaching experts to deliver teacher training seminars to local educators.
