Beijing Normal University will host the Chinese Culture Studies Programme for Global Young Scholars 2021 - The International Sinology Youth Workshop. The theme of this year's programme is "Harmony and Coexistence: Prosperity for all and the distinction between righteousness and benefit".
This programme is hosted by the International Confucian Association, Beijing Normal University (BNU) and organised by the School of Philosophy and Research Center for Value and Culture at BNU. It is designed to support outstanding young scholars overseas who are engaged in related research or are undertaking China Studies programmes at university.
To bring the abundant resources of the International Confucian Association into full play, a number of their experts and scholars with diverse knowledge backgrounds, academic perspectives and instruction styles will teach for the programme through various forms such as academic lectures, reading guides, theme discussions, tutor guidance, and student presentations. This programme aims to help participants broaden their academic horizons, improve their academic level, promote international academic exchanges and cooperation, and promote the in-depth understandings of the new generation of research scholars in traditional Chinese thought and culture.
Eligibility
This programme is mainly targeted at overseas young scholars who are well engaged in related research, along with young international students from universities in China. The condition for applying requires students to be aged above 18, with a bachelor's degree or above, and have certain background or foundation of Chinese culture study. We expect participants to have a strong academic interest in Chinese traditional culture and contemporary Chinese society, and have a certain understanding and grasp of Chinese philosophy, history, literature, etc. We also look forward to the participants caring about public affairs and being willing to contribute to the intercultural communication and cooperation between China and foreign countries.
