China Day for Primary
Introduce younger pupils aged 5 - 11 to a range of Chinese cultural activities.
Our China Day programme is the perfect way to introduce younger pupils (aged 5 - 11) to an exciting range of Chinese cultural activities, and even introduce a little simple Mandarin language into the classroom on a day-to-day basis.
Get your pupils using Chinese numbers, talking about the Chinese zodiac and learning their own Chinese names in a relaxed and playful environment.
We offer a flexible selection of workshops designed to introduce a range of language and cultural elements to your pupils. Based on the needs of your particular group, we will design a bespoke package of activities for your China Day from a broad selection of topics including:
- Chinese language taster
- Chinese New Year taster
- Martial Arts (Tai-Chi)
- Games on Chinese culture and customs
- Chinese songs and traditional musical instruments
- Folk dance
- Chinese arts and crafts (traditional paper cutting, paper folding and knot making)
- Chinese legend stories
- Brush Painting
- Dough sculpture making
Our sessions that involve teaching with slides require an audiovisual equipped teaching room.
If you are booking Calligraphy or Brush Painting sessions with us and they will be delivered to a number of different year groups, we prefer to carry them out in one space as the set up can be quite time-consuming.
Our Dance workshops are best held in a school hall with audio equipment to play the accompanying music.
Our sessions are 45-60 minutes long and cost £40 per workshop. We ask that you book at least 2 hours of your chosen workshop in one day. (For example, if you require Tai Chi and Chinese language taster, we require that you book 2 hours of each).
We can host a one-off hour workshop in some cases which will incur a cost of £105.
Please note that the above prices do not include travel costs. These will be discussed with you upon booking.
How to book
Please note that during Chinese New Year, workshops must be confirmed two weeks before the workshop date. During the rest of the year, workshops must be confirmed 4 weeks in advance.
