China Connect for Secondary
Introduce older pupils aged 11 - 18 to a range of Chinese cultural activities.
Our China Connect programme is the perfect way to introduce older pupils (aged 11 - 18) to a stimulating and relevant range of Chinese cultural activities, and introduce basic Mandarin language into the classroom on a day-to-day basis.
Get your pupils talking about China, understanding key cultural concepts and getting to grips with the principles of Mandarin.
We offer a flexible selection of workshops designed to introduce a range of language and cultural elements to your pupils. Based on the needs of your particular group, we will design a bespoke package of activities for your China Day from a broad selection of topics including:
- Chinese language taster
- Chinese New Year taster
- Martial Arts / Tai-Chi
- Traditional Chinese stories and literature
- Games on Chinese culture and customs
- Chinese songs and traditional musical instruments
- Folk dance
- Chinese traditional brush painting
- Chinese arts and crafts (traditional paper cutting, paper folding, and knot making)
Our sessions that involve teaching with slides require an audiovisual equipped teaching room.
If you are booking Calligraphy or Brush Painting sessions with us and they will be delivered to a number of different year groups, we prefer to carry them out in one space as the set up can be quite time-consuming.
Our Dance workshops are best held in a school hall with audio equipment to play the accompanying music.
These sessions incur a cost of £40 per workshop for up to 60 minutes per group for classes of 25 - 30 students.
Please note that for some workshops we can only accept block bookings of three or more repeat sessions per day. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will do our best to meet your needs.
