Chinese New Year 2016

1 December 2015

Celebrate the year of the Monkey with the Confucius Institute!

For schools

Once again, we will be hosting a Chinese New Year Celebration Gala at the RNCM on Tuesday, 9 February 2016. A unique and exciting show of cultural spectacle will feature a performance team from China displaying a new array of amazing acrobatic skills. An invitation and instruction on how book tickets for your school will be sent directly to your school.

As in previous years, we will be holding a large number of workshops at local schools - have you booked yours?

For students

We will be supporting the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) again, who will be hosting their annual Chinese New Year Gala celebration and we will have a limited number of FREE tickets available for our students.

For everyone

We will also be part of the City Centre celebrations as one of CityCo’s official cultural partners, holding interactive family workshops and performances at the Arndale Centre and St Ann's Square from Thursday, 4 until Saturday, 6 February.

And finally, the Chinese Film Forum UK will put on a Hong Kong crime film season at HOME Mcr, running from Chinese New Year until Mid-March before touring the rest of the UK. Screenings will be supported by talks, intros and possibly a screenwriting workshop or masterclass.
